Some skin care products such as face creams and body creams, using papaya as one of the ingredients. Papaya is thought to be good for natural skin whitening because it contains nutrients in it. Papaya contains vitamin C and vitamin A which are good for the skin. The higher vitamin C content compared to oranges makes papaya estimated to be a natural skin whitener. Vitamin C contained in a medium-sized papaya weighing 150 grams is as much as 88.3 milligrams or equivalent to 157% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, while oranges only contain about 69.7 milligrams. In fact, one large papaya fruit can contain 235 mg of vitamin C, more than the amount you need in a day. Vitamin C which is considered natural skin whitening can help in the process of depigmentation or removing skin pigmentation. This is because vitamin C can reduce the formation of melanin. But because vitamin C is classified as an unstable compound, this vitamin is often combined with other depigmentation agents, such as soybeans and licorice root plants. In addition, the content of vitamin C can also help in overcoming skin aging. A study shows that women who consume more vitamin C, have less wrinkles, not dry skin, and experience less skin aging. This could be because the benefits of vitamin C as an antioxidant that can fight free radicals and help the formation of collagen. In addition to vitamin C, papaya also contains vitamin A which is good for dealing with wrinkles on the face, pimples, and other skin problems, including skin damage due to sun exposure.

Papaya For Brighter Skin

According to some dermatologists, with a variety of vitamins in it, papaya is thought to be used as a natural skin lightener, fastener, and whitener. To get bright skin with treatments using papaya, there are several ways you can do at home the following:
  1. Blend one piece of papaya fruit, then squeeze to take water. Dampen cotton with papaya water, apply to the face, neck and chest. Let stand for 10 minutes then rinse with cold water until clean.
  2. Mix ¼ cup of cooked papaya, ¼ cup of honey, 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, ¼ cup of chocolate, and 2 teaspoons of milk until blended. Apply the mixture mask to your face and leave it for 10 minutes. Finally, wash your face with warm water until clean.
  3. Mix ¼ cup of ground papaya with 1 teaspoon of pineapple juice. Then apply to the face and neck for 15 to 20 minutes. If the face feels itchy, it's a sign that the mask is working. After 20 minutes, rinse your face thoroughly.
Although papaya contains a lot of vitamin C and is believed to be good for the skin, more research needs to be done to ensure that papaya is an effective and safe natural skin whitener. Apart from the high content of vitamin C and vitamin A, papaya also contains many other nutrients. For example vitamin E, alpha and beta carotene, vitamin B, calcium, folate, magnesium, potassium, vitamin K, lycopene, fiber, and various other nutrients that are good for body health if consumed regularly.
